Dear Friends of Stroud Choral Society,

Thank you for your continuing suppport of our choir. You are receiving this newsletter because you have opted to be kept informed of our events either via our website, or via our Ticket Source box office.

We would like to invite you to our next concert on Saturday 21st November at 7pm at Tewkesbury Abbey. We will be performing George Dyson's magnificent tale of the Canterbury Pilgrims, based on Chaucer's wonderful characterisations of the pilgrims. We have soloists Felicity Tomlins (soprano), Thomas Elwin (tenor) and Felix Kemp (bass), together with the Bristol Ensemble, and our conductor Simon Bell.

This is a particularly exciting project as the concert coincides with the Bayeaux Tapestry exhibition at Tewkesbury Abbey (from October 2026 until July 2027). Click here for more information: Bayeux Tapestry and Norman Heritage Trail

There are also 900 knitted monks which were made as part of the 900th Anniversary Celebrations - you can sometimes spot them in various places round the Abbey getting on with their work. There is much to see at Tewkesbury Abbey.

There are lots of events to tell you about in this newsletter - see the sections below.

Best wishes,
Stroud Choral Society members and committee
