Dear Friends of Stroud Choral Society,
Thank you for your continuing suppport of our choir.
We would like to invite you to our concert on 21st March when we will be singing Bach's emotional and dramatic St Matthew Passion. We will be joined by the Stroud Choral Youth Choir as well as the choristers of Tewkesbury Abbey Schola Cantorum.
The double choir will be led by Simon Bell and joined by the Bristol Ensemble, divided into 2 orchestras, and 6 soloists: The Evangelist will be Simon Wall and Christus will be sung by Marcus Farnsworth. Also joining us are Emma Brain-Gabbott, Francis Gush, Toby Ward and Philip Tebb.
The concert is at 7.30pm in Tewkesbury Abbey.
As you know, Bach used the text from Chapters 26 and 27 of the Gospel of St Matthew to depict the final days of the life of Jesus Christ, telling the story of his trial and crucifixion.
We do hope that you will be able to join us for this wonderful event.

Best wishes,
Peggy Grimshaw
